A precision-molded 4-piece vent glass weatherstrip seal kit engineered to restore a tight, watertight seal for left and right vent windows on convertible and hardtop Volkswagen Karmann Ghia models. These seals replace worn or cracked rubber to stop water intrusion, reduce wind noise and vibration, and protect interior trim. Molded from durable, weather-resistant rubber for long life and an OEM-style fit, the kit helps preserve vehicle value and finish while making installation straightforward for restoration and maintenance projects.
Features:
- Fits 1964 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia convertible and hardtop models (left and right vent glass).
- Complete 4-piece kit replaces both left and right vent glass weatherstrips for a full seal restoration.
- Made from durable, weather- and UV-resistant rubber for long-lasting performance.
- Restores proper sealing to prevent water leaks, wind noise, and interior damage.
- OEM-style profile for correct fit and appearance during restorations or routine maintenance.
- Easy to install with basic hand tools; ideal for DIY restoration projects.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface and open the vent windows to access mounting hardware.
- Carefully remove any retaining screws or clips from the vent window assembly using the appropriate screwdriver; set hardware aside.
- Remove the vent window assembly from the door or frame (if required) to access the old weatherstrip fully.
- Peel out the old weatherstrip pieces. Use a plastic trim tool to avoid scratching the metal. Remove all old adhesive and rubber residue.
- Clean the channel and surrounding metal thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and a clean rag; allow to dry.
- Test-fit each new weatherstrip piece to confirm orientation and fit before final installation.
- If desired or recommended, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive into the channel where the new seal will seat (adhesive is optional for some kits).
- Press the new weatherstrip firmly into the channel, starting at one end and working to the other. Use masking tape to hold pieces in place while adhesive cures if used.
- Reinstall the vent window assembly and secure with the original screws or clips, checking that the window operates freely and the seal seats evenly.
- Close the vent window and check for proper alignment. Inspect for any gaps and trim or adjust as needed. If adhesive was used, allow recommended cure time before driving.
