The Precision Trunk Weatherstrip Seal TS 100A SA is an OEM-style replacement trunk seal designed to keep water, dust, and road noise out of the cargo area while protecting the trunk flange from corrosion and wear. Made from durable, weather-resistant EPDM rubber with an accurate profile for a tight, long-lasting seal, it restores trunk fitment and helps maintain vehicle value. Easy to install as a direct replacement or upgraded universal fit for many trunk applications — trim-to-fit if necessary — this seal reduces leaks, rattles, and vibration for a quieter, drier trunk.
Features:
- EPDM rubber construction resists ozone, UV, and temperature extremes for long life.
- OEM-style profile restores original trunk sealing performance and appearance.
- Prevents water intrusion, dust, and road noise; helps protect trunk metal from rust.
- Simple direct-replacement design — can be trimmed for custom fit when needed.
- Provides a tight compression seal to reduce trunk vibration and rattling.
- Durable and flexible for reliable sealing over many years; ideal for restoration or maintenance projects.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 20–45 minutes
Instructions:
- Open the trunk and remove the old weatherstrip: gently pry out retaining channel or pull off adhesive-backed material.
- Thoroughly clean the sealing channel and flange with a cloth and isopropyl alcohol; remove dirt, old adhesive, and rust flakes.
- Test-fit the new seal by laying it along the trunk flange to determine correct orientation and length; mark trim points with masking tape.
- Trim the new seal to length if needed, leaving a small overlap (about 1/4") for corner compression; use sharp scissors or a utility knife.
- If the seal uses a retaining channel, press it into the channel starting at one end and work around the perimeter, ensuring the bulb compresses evenly.
- If adhesive is recommended for your vehicle, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip cement to the flange or backing, then press the seal into place and hold for a few minutes.
- Close the trunk slowly to check for proper compression and alignment; adjust as needed so the trunk closes smoothly without excessive force.
- Allow any adhesive to cure per the manufacturer's instructions (typically 1–24 hours) before exposing to moisture or heavy use.
- Recheck trunk operation and make final adjustments to ensure a uniform seal and no binding on the latch.
