  • Durable forged steel housing with heat-treated ball stud for long-lasting strength
  • Restores proper suspension geometry to improve steering response and tire wear

  • Includes castle nut and cotter pin for secure, OE-style fastening
  • Direct replacement for restoration and routine maintenance; easy to install with common shop tools
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 3/5
  • Estimated time: 60-120 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Floor jack and jack stands
  • Socket and wrench set
  • Ball joint press or C-frame press with appropriate adapters
  • Hammer and punch
  • Pliers
  • Torque wrench
  • Breaker bar
  • Penetrating oil
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on level ground, engage parking brake, and loosen front wheel lug nuts slightly.
  2. Raise the front of the vehicle with a floor jack and support securely on jack stands. Remove the wheel.
  3. Apply penetrating oil to the ball joint nut and inspect surrounding components for wear or damage.
  4. Remove the cotter pin and loosen/remove the castle nut from the ball joint stud.
  5. Separate the ball joint stud from the steering knuckle using a ball joint separator or pickle fork. Support the control arm if needed.
  6. If the ball joint is pressed in, install a ball joint press with the correct adapters and press out the old ball joint. If removable with bolts, unfasten retaining hardware and remove.
  7. Clean the control arm bore and inspect for damage or corrosion. Lightly lubricate the bore if recommended.
  8. Position the new ball joint into the control arm and press it in using the ball joint press and proper adapters until fully seated. For bolt-in types, align and fasten with supplied hardware.
  9. Reinstall the ball joint stud into the steering knuckle, tighten the castle nut to the manufacturer’s specified torque, and insert a new cotter pin to secure it.
  10. Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, torque the wheel lug nuts to specification, and perform a test drive. Have a professional alignment performed after installation to ensure proper tire wear and handling.
