The Precision Front Bumper Guard Kit (BGF 1700 68) is a pair of front bumper guards designed to protect factory bumpers from low-speed impacts, road debris, and everyday wear. Constructed from high-grade steel with a corrosion-resistant chrome finish, these guards restore the original appearance while providing durable protection. Engineered for a direct-replacement fit with original mounting points, the kit offers reliable strength, long-lasting finish, and straightforward bolt-on installation—making it ideal for repair, restoration, or preventive maintenance.
Features:
- Pair includes left and right front bumper guards for direct-replacement applications.
- High-grade steel construction with corrosion-resistant chrome plating for long life and authentic appearance.
- Protects factory bumper from low-speed impacts, scrapes, and road debris.
- Designed for direct fitment to original mounting points to preserve alignment and finish.
- Includes mounting hardware for straightforward bolt-on installation.
- Ideal for restoration projects or replacing damaged/aged bumper guards to restore curb appeal.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, engage parking brake and chock rear wheels. If needed, raise the front end and secure with jack stands or ramps.
- Locate existing bumper guard mounting hardware. Apply penetrating oil to any rusted bolts and allow it to soak if removal is difficult.
- Remove the old bumper guard by loosening and removing the mounting bolts. Retain any reusable hardware or discard if corroded.
- Clean the mounting surfaces and threads of debris, rust, or old sealant. Inspect bumper brackets for damage and repair as necessary.
- Position the new bumper guard in place and hand-thread the supplied mounting bolts to ensure proper alignment with factory holes.
- Tighten bolts evenly in a cross pattern to seat the guard. Use a torque wrench to tighten to the manufacturer-recommended specification if available, or snug securely without over-tightening.
- Lower the vehicle (if raised) and check the guard alignment and gap against the bumper. Make final adjustments if necessary and re-torque bolts after a short test drive.
- Periodically inspect mounting hardware and finish; touch up any exposed metal to prevent corrosion.
