This 2-piece door weatherstrip kit provides left and right door seals specifically engineered for 1969 2-door hardtops and convertibles. Designed to replace worn or damaged door jamb seals, it restores original fit and function to prevent wind noise, water intrusion, and interior drafts. Molded from durable EPDM-style rubber with an OEM-profile bead, the kit offers long-lasting resilience against compression set, ozone and temperature extremes. Ideal for restorations and maintenance, the easy-fit design delivers reliable sealing performance and improves cabin comfort and preservation.
Features:
- Fits 1969 2-door hardtops and convertibles — left and right door weatherstrip (2-piece kit).
- Made from durable EPDM-style rubber for long life and resistance to weathering and ozone.
- OEM-profile design restores factory fit, alignment, and sealing performance.
- Reduces wind noise, water leaks, and interior drafts for improved cabin comfort.
- Simple replacement for restoration or maintenance — improves vehicle value and longevity.
- Compression-resistant construction for consistent sealing over repeated use.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, disconnect battery if you will remove electrical door components.
- Remove the door panel and any trim or fasteners that obstruct access to the door jamb seal.
- Carefully pry out the old weatherstrip starting at one end; remove any adhesive residue or deteriorated gasket material.
- Clean the mounting surface thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or adhesive cleaner; allow to dry completely.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip pieces to confirm orientation (left vs. right) and overall fit, trimming excess only if necessary.
- If adhesive is recommended for your vehicle, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the flange or mounting surface following the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions.
- Press the new weatherstrip into the channel, working from one end to the other. Use a rubber roller or block to seat the bead evenly and ensure full contact.
- Allow adhesive to cure per product instructions before closing the door. Reinstall door panel and trim, then inspect the seal for even compression and proper door alignment.
- Test for leaks and wind noise by closing the door and, if possible, using a water test or driving at low speed to confirm proper sealing.
