Precision Vent Glass Weatherstrip Seal Kit (4-piece, left and right) restores a watertight, quiet seal for the front vent windows on 1968 Volkswagen Beetle (Type 1). Engineered to replace worn or cracked seals, this kit secures vent glass, prevents water intrusion, reduces wind noise, and protects interior trim. Molded from durable EPDM-style rubber, the pieces resist UV, ozone and temperature cycling for long-lasting performance and an accurate, OEM-style fit. Ideal for restoration projects or routine maintenance, the kit delivers reliable sealing performance with straightforward installation.

- Durable solution for restoration, maintenance or replacement applications.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 45-90 minutes
Instructions:
- Remove the vent glass assembly from the door following vehicle-specific procedures (if required) or prop vent open to access the seals.
- Carefully pry out the old weatherstrips using a trim tool or screwdriver, taking care not to bend or damage the vent frame or glass.
- Clean the channel and mating surfaces thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or a mild cleaner to remove old adhesive, dirt and oils; allow to dry.
- Test-fit each new seal on its respective side (left/right) to confirm orientation and fit before final installation.
- Lightly lubricate the seal bore or use a small amount of soapy water or silicone spray to ease installation. For a firmer hold, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive in the channel per adhesive instructions.
- Press the new weatherstrip firmly into the channel, starting at one end and working to the other. Ensure the seal seats fully and aligns with glass and frame.
- Reinstall the vent glass assembly into the door (if removed) and check for proper operation, alignment and clearance.
- Allow adhesive (if used) to cure per manufacturer recommendations, then check for leaks and wind noise with a water test and road test.
