A direct-fit left and right roof rail weatherstrip pair designed to restore the original watertight seal along the roof rails. Intended for 1969 roof applications (check part RWP 1413 69 against your vehicle), these seals secure trim, prevent water intrusion, and reduce wind noise and vibration. Molded from durable EPDM rubber with OEM-style profiles, the seals offer long-term resistance to UV, ozone and temperature extremes while providing a reliable, easy-to-install replacement for worn or missing roof rail weatherstrips.
Features:
- Fits 1969 roof rail applications — verify fitment for your specific make and model using part RWP 1413 69.
- Sold as a left and right hand pair for complete roof rail sealing.
- Made from durable EPDM rubber for UV, ozone and temperature resistance.
- Restores watertight seal to prevent leaks and reduce wind noise and vibration.
- OEM-style profile for correct alignment and secure trim retention.
- Easy push-in installation — may use adhesive for extra retention where required.
- Ideal for restoration or maintenance of classic vehicles with original roof rail channels.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Remove the old weatherstrip and any retained clips or adhesive: carefully pry out the old seal and scrape remaining adhesive with a razor blade or scraper.
- Clean the channel thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and a clean rag; ensure the surface is dry and free of rust or debris.
- Compare the new left and right seals to the channels to confirm orientation and correct length; trim excess if necessary, leaving a small overlap if recommended.
- If using adhesive, apply a thin bead to the channel or the back of the weatherstrip per the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions; many seals will seat without adhesive.
- Starting at one end, press the weatherstrip into the roof rail channel, working along the length and using firm, even pressure. Use a rubber mallet or block of wood to seat the seal evenly if needed.
- Trim any excess material and reinstall any trim pieces or clips that retain the weatherstrip.
- Allow adhesive to cure if used (follow adhesive cure time) and check for proper fit, water tightness, and trim alignment before driving.
