A precision-fit right-hand lower door weatherstrip designed to restore the original seal on vehicles that require the DWR 1411-78 specification. This durable door seal prevents water intrusion, reduces wind noise and road vibration, and protects interior trim and carpets from moisture and dirt. Made from long-lasting rubber with a reinforced channel for secure mounting, the seal returns proper door alignment and weatherproofing to aging doors for dependable, long-term performance. Ideal for restoration projects or replacing worn, cracked, or flattened seals.
Features:
- Fits right-hand lower door openings for 1978 vehicles requiring DWR 1411-78 specification — verify exact fitment for your make and model before purchase.
- Constructed from durable EPDM-type rubber with a reinforced mounting channel for a secure, long-lasting seal.
- Prevents water leaks, reduces wind noise, and blocks dust and road debris from entering the cabin.
- Easy replacement part that restores proper door closure and helps maintain interior condition during restorations.
- Resistant to UV, ozone, and temperature extremes for extended service life.
- Sold as the right-hand (passenger-side) lower door weatherstrip in OEM-style profile for accurate fit and finish.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground and open the door fully; support the door if needed.
- Carefully remove the old lower door weatherstrip: use a trim tool or flat screwdriver to pry out the seal and any retaining channel, taking care not to damage the door flange or paint.
- Thoroughly clean the mounting channel and surrounding surfaces with isopropyl alcohol or a mild cleaner; remove old adhesive, dirt, and corrosion to ensure good adhesion and fit.
- Dry-fit the new weatherstrip along the lower door edge to confirm orientation and length; trim excess if necessary so the ends align with door corners.
- If the original seal used adhesive, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel per the adhesive manufacturer’s directions; otherwise, align the reinforced channel and press the seal into place.
- Work progressively along the door, pressing the seal firmly into the channel and ensuring the retainer seats evenly without gaps or twists.
- Reinstall any retaining clips or molding removed earlier; wipe away excess adhesive immediately and allow adhesive to cure as recommended.
- Close and open the door several times to confirm smooth operation and a complete seal; make minor adjustments if necessary and inspect for leaks after a brief road or water test.
