The Precision Hood / Fender Bumper BMP 019 is a compact, impact-absorbing bumper designed to cushion the contact points between the hood and fender. It helps maintain proper panel alignment, reduces vibration and rattling, and prevents metal-to-metal wear that can lead to paint damage. Built for long-term durability and simple replacement, this bumper is ideal for restoration projects or routine maintenance where restoring factory fit and finish matters.
Features:
- Compact bumper designed to cushion hood-to-fender contact and protect paint and sheetmetal.
- Made from durable, weather-resistant elastomer for long service life and UV resistance.
- Reduces vibration, noise, and panel movement for a tighter, factory-like fit.
- Simple replacement part that restores alignment and prevents progressive wear.
- Fits common bumper mounting stem or threaded stud configurations for easy swap-out.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 1/5
- Estimated time: 10-20 minutes
Instructions:
- Open the hood and locate the existing bumper at the hood/fender contact point.
- If present, remove any retaining nut or clip securing the old bumper using pliers or a socket wrench. If the bumper is a push-fit, pry it off gently with a flathead screwdriver or trim tool.
- Clean the mounting area to remove dirt, grease, and debris so the new bumper seats properly.
- Align the BMP 019 bumper with the mounting stem or hole and push it onto the stem until fully seated. If a threaded stud is used, slide bumper on and reinstall the retaining nut; tighten snugly but avoid over-torquing.
- Close the hood and check panel fit and contact. Adjust bumper height or compressibility (by using an alternate mounting position if available) until desired alignment and clearance are achieved.
- Re-check after a short drive and retighten or readjust if necessary.
