Instructions:
- Secure vehicle on level ground, loosen wheel lug nuts, raise vehicle with jack and support on jack stands. Remove the wheel.
- Locate the outer tie rod end on the steering knuckle. Mark the position of the existing tie rod relative to the adjuster sleeve or count turns to preserve alignment.
- Loosen the jam nut on the inner tie rod/adjuster sleeve with appropriate wrenches.
- Separate the tie rod end from the steering knuckle using a tie rod end puller or a pickle fork. Avoid damaging the knuckle threads or boots.
- Unscrew the old tie rod end from the adjuster sleeve or inner tie rod. Compare new part to old to ensure correct orientation and thread direction (right hand thread for this part).
- Install the new tie rod end by threading it onto the adjuster sleeve to the previously marked position or the same number of turns removed. Tighten the jam nut to hold position.
- Insert the tie rod ball stud into the steering knuckle and secure with the supplied castle nut or nut. Torque to factory specifications and install cotter pin if required.
- Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque lug nuts to spec.
- Have a professional wheel alignment performed after installation to ensure proper steering geometry and tire wear.
