  • Direct-fit replacement for OE outer tie rod ends — designed to match factory steering geometry
  • Durable metal construction with corrosion-resistant finish for long service life
  • Seals and grease fitting help reduce wear and extend joint life
  • Restores steering precision, reduces play and vibration, and prevents uneven tire wear
  • Easy to install for restoration projects or routine steering/suspension repairs
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 3/5
  • Estimated time: 45 minutes - 1.5 hours
Suggested Tools:
  • Jack and jack stands
  • Wheel chocks
  • Lug wrench or impact gun
  • Wrench set and sockets
  • Tie rod end puller or pickle fork
  • Adjustable wrench
  • Torque wrench
  • Feeler gauge or alignment tools
  • Grease gun (if greaseable)
  • Marker or paint pen
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on a level surface, engage parking brake, and chock rear wheels.
  2. Loosen front wheel lug nuts, raise the vehicle with a jack, and support securely on jack stands.
  3. Remove the front wheel to access the tie rod end.
  4. Locate the outer tie rod end at the steering knuckle. Mark the position of the tie rod on the threaded portion with a marker or count the turns to preserve alignment.
  5. Loosen the jam nut securing the tie rod end to the inner tie rod or adjusting sleeve.
  6. Withdraw the cotter pin (if present) and remove the castle nut from the tie rod end stud.
  7. Separate the tie rod end from the steering knuckle using a tie rod end puller or pickle fork; avoid damaging the knuckle boot or threads.
  8. Unscrew the old outer tie rod end from the inner tie rod/adjusting sleeve, keeping track of the number of turns or the marked position.
  9. Thread the new outer tie rod end onto the inner tie rod to the marked position (or match the previous turn count) and tighten the jam nut to secure.
  10. Insert the new tie rod stud into the steering knuckle, install the castle nut, and torque to factory specification. Install a new cotter pin if required.
  11. If the part is greaseable, apply grease via the fitting until the boot seats; if sealed, do not force grease.
  12. Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque lug nuts to spec.
  13. Have a professional wheel alignment performed after installation to ensure correct toe and prevent uneven tire wear.
