Ideal for restoration projects or routine maintenance, the part offers dependable fitment, easy installation, and reliable, low-maintenance operation.
Features:

  • OE-style design restores correct steering geometry and reduces play in the linkage.
  • Non-greaseable construction for maintenance-free operation and sealed pivot points.
  • Durable, corrosion-resistant finish for long service life in restoration and daily-use applications.
  • Precision machined ends ensure secure mating with tie rods, idler arm, and pitman arm for reliable steering response.
  • Simple replacement part suitable for mechanics and DIY restorers looking to improve steering feel.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 45-90 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Floor jack and jack stands
  • Wheel chocks
  • Socket set and ratchet
  • Combination wrenches
  • Torque wrench
  • Pitman arm puller or tie rod separator (pickle fork)
  • Pliers
  • Hammer
  • Penetrating oil
Instructions:
  1. Park on a level surface, chock rear wheels, and loosen front wheel lug nuts slightly.
  2. Raise the front of the vehicle with a floor jack and secure it on jack stands; remove the front wheels.
  3. Apply penetrating oil to nuts and bolts at the tie rod ends, pitman arm, and idler arm connections; allow to soak if corroded.
  4. Remove cotter pins (if present) and loosen the castle nuts or retaining nuts at the outer tie rod ends connected to the center link.
  5. Use a tie rod separator or pitman arm puller to disconnect the outer tie rod ends from the center link without damaging threads.
  6. Loosen and remove the nuts securing the center link to the pitman arm and idler arm; support the steering components as you separate them.
  7. Remove the old center link and compare to the new part to confirm correct orientation and fitment.
  8. Install the replacement center link, aligning it with the pitman arm and idler arm; hand-thread nuts initially to ensure proper engagement.
  9. Tighten all fasteners to the manufacturer's specified torque values and install new cotter pins where required.
  10. Reinstall wheels, lower the vehicle, and torque wheel lug nuts to specification.
  11. Start the vehicle and verify steering operation; check for binding or excessive play.
  12. Have a professional wheel alignment performed after installation to ensure proper steering geometry and tire wear.
