A direct-fit battery tray for 1968–1972 Buick A-Body vehicles that restores factory mounting and secures the battery against movement and vibration. Built from heavy-gauge steel with a protective finish, this tray replaces rusted or damaged originals to protect the inner fender and wiring from acid and corrosion. Durable, reliable, and straightforward to install, it’s an ideal component for restoration projects or reliable daily-driver maintenance.
Features:
  • Fits 1968–1972 Buick A-Body vehicles (factory battery location).
  • Heavy-gauge steel construction for long-lasting strength and support.
  • Protective coating helps resist corrosion and battery acid damage.
  • Secures battery to reduce movement and vibration while driving.
  • Direct bolt-in replacement for original tray — restores factory fit and function.
  • Ideal for restoring rusted trays or upgrading worn factory components.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Socket set (8–15 mm)
  • Ratchet and extensions
  • Combination wrench set
  • Flathead or Phillips screwdriver
  • Wire brush or abrasive pad
  • Penetrating oil (optional)
  • Torque wrench (optional)
  • Safety gloves and eye protection
Instructions:
  1. Park on level ground, set the parking brake and remove jewelry. Disconnect the negative battery cable first, then the positive cable, and remove the battery from the vehicle.
  2. Remove the battery hold-down hardware and lift the battery clear to provide access to the tray.
  3. Unbolt and remove the old, rusted tray. Apply penetrating oil to stubborn fasteners if needed.
  4. Clean the mounting area with a wire brush to remove rust and corrosion. Treat bare metal with rust inhibitor or primer as desired.
  5. Test-fit the new tray in the mounting location to ensure proper alignment with factory holes.
  6. Secure the tray using factory or supplied hardware. Tighten bolts snugly and, if available, torque to factory specification.
  7. Reinstall the battery and hold-down hardware, ensuring the battery is seated securely with no lateral movement.
  8. Reconnect the positive battery cable first, then the negative. Start the vehicle and check that the battery is secure and that cables and nearby wiring are not contacting sharp edges.
