Lower right (passenger-side, lower) door hinge for 1966-1967 Camaro, Firebird and compatible GM A-body models. Designed to secure and align the door for smooth operation, this replacement hinge restores proper fitment and eliminates sagging, rattles, and uneven gaps common in aging hinges. Constructed for durability with a corrosion-resistant finish and engineered for OEM-style fit, it is ideal for restoration projects and maintenance where reliability and precise alignment matter. Easy to install with basic tools and a helper to support the door.
Features:
  • Fits 1966-1967 Chevrolet Camaro, Pontiac Firebird and other GM A-body models (lower right / passenger-side).
  • Precision-formed steel construction for long-term strength and durability.
  • Corrosion-resistant finish to withstand environmental exposure and reduce prep work.
  • OEM-style fit and hole locations for direct replacement and accurate alignment.
  • Restores proper door operation — prevents sagging, reduces noise, and improves sealing.
  • Straightforward installation suitable for restorations and routine maintenance.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 3/5
  • Estimated time: 45-90 minutes (with a helper)
Suggested Tools:
  • Floor jack or door support and a wood block
  • Socket set and ratchet
  • Open-end or box wrenches
  • Torque wrench (recommended)
  • Center punch or alignment tool
  • Penetrating oil (if bolts are corroded)
  • Masking tape and marker
  • Safety glasses and gloves
Instructions:
  1. Prepare the vehicle: park on level ground, disconnect the battery if desired, and roll the window up. Remove the interior door panel or any trim necessary to access the hinge bolts.
  2. Support the door: place a floor jack with a wood block under the door sill or use a dedicated door support to hold the door’s weight. Enlist a helper to steady the door if needed.
  3. Mark hinge positions: with the hinge in its current position, mark the location of the hinge on the door and body with masking tape or a marker to preserve alignment reference.
  4. Apply penetrating oil to fasteners if needed, then loosen and remove the lower hinge bolts attaching the hinge to the body and door. Keep hardware if reusing or replace as required.
  5. Remove the old hinge and clean mating surfaces of paint, rust, and debris. Test-fit the new hinge to ensure hole alignment.
  6. Install the new hinge: position the new hinge and hand-thread bolts to avoid cross-threading. Start all bolts loosely so adjustments can be made.
  7. Align the door: with bolts loose, adjust the door position for even gaps and smooth operation. Use the marks made earlier as a guide. Move the door up/down and in/out as needed.
  8. Tighten fasteners: once alignment is satisfactory, tighten the hinge bolts to secure the hinge. If available, use the vehicle manufacturer’s torque specifications; otherwise tighten firmly and recheck alignment.
  9. Reinstall trim: replace any removed door panels or trim pieces, remove the door support, and cycle the door several times to confirm smooth operation and consistent gaps.
  10. Final check: inspect for binding, rattles, or weatherseal interference. Make minor adjustments as necessary for perfect fitment.
