A 5-piece hardware kit designed to secure the wiper post to the transmission assembly on classic GM A-Body cars. Compatible with 1964-1972 GM A-Body models, this set replaces worn or missing mounting screws to restore proper wiper linkage alignment and reliable operation. Built for durability and corrosion resistance, the screws provide a secure, OEM-style fastening that simplifies restoration and maintenance while reducing vibration and play in the wiper system.
Features:
- Fits 1964-1972 GM A-Body vehicles (Chevelle/El Camino/Malibu/other A-Body applications).
- Five-piece kit for complete wiper post-to-transmission mounting replacement.
- Corrosion-resistant steel with protective finish for long-term durability.
- Secures and aligns the wiper post to prevent slop and reduce vibration.
- Easy, direct bolt-on replacement — ideal for restorations and repairs.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 15-30 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, set parking brake, and disconnect the battery if working near electrical components.
- Remove windshield wiper arms and any trim or access panels necessary to expose the wiper post and transmission mounting area.
- Apply penetrating oil to old fasteners if present and allow it to soak for several minutes.
- Support the wiper transmission assembly to prevent movement while removing hardware.
- Remove the old mounting screws and clean mating surfaces and threads; use a brush or rag to remove debris and corrosion.
- Position the wiper post into the transmission housing and start the new screws by hand to ensure correct thread engagement.
- Tighten screws evenly in a crisscross pattern until snug. If vehicle manufacturer torque specs are available, tighten to those values; otherwise use moderate torque and avoid over-tightening.
- If desired, apply a medium-strength threadlocker to the screws before final tightening to resist loosening, then reinstall wiper arms and test operation for smooth movement and correct alignment.
