The Precision Windshield Molding WFS D1299 is a direct-fit windshield trim designed to secure and seal the windshield edge, preventing water intrusion and reducing wind noise while restoring the vehicle’s original appearance. Constructed from high-grade EPDM rubber with a corrosion-resistant channel, this molding provides long-lasting weather resistance, UV stability, and reliable alignment for replacement or restoration projects. Easy to install with basic tools, it delivers a durable, factory-like finish for trim and glass reseals.
Features:
- Direct-fit windshield molding that restores original appearance and function.
- High-grade EPDM rubber provides superior weather, ozone, and UV resistance.
- Corrosion-resistant channel maintains shape and ensures secure engagement with the windshield flange.
- Seals against water and drafts to help prevent leaks and reduce wind noise.
- Durable construction designed for long-term reliability in restoration and replacement applications.
- Simple installation for most vehicles; press-fit design with optional adhesive for added security.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface and protect painted surfaces with tape or covers.
- Carefully remove the old windshield molding using a trim tool and protected screwdriver; cut away any bonded sections with a utility knife.
- Thoroughly clean the windshield flange and channel with isopropyl alcohol to remove old adhesive, dirt, and sealant; allow to dry.
- Dry-fit the new molding to confirm correct orientation and fit before applying any lubricant or adhesive.
- Apply a light mist of soapy water or silicone lubricant inside the molding channel to ease installation; if the vehicle requires, apply recommended urethane or molding adhesive per manufacturer specs.
- Starting at one corner, press the molding onto the windshield flange and work around the perimeter, using a rubber mallet or block of wood to seat the channel evenly without deforming the rubber.
- Trim any excess material and ensure the ends meet flush; use masking tape to hold sections in place if adhesive was used.
- Allow adhesive or sealant to cure as specified (if used), then inspect for uniform seating and test for leaks after cure.
