Instructions:
- Confirm fitment: compare the new seals to the old seals or door-jamb measurements and the DLP 1710 66 part reference.
- Remove the old weatherstrip: gently pry out the existing seal using a trim tool and remove any retaining clips or fasteners.
- Clean the mounting surface: remove adhesive residue, dirt and grease with rubbing alcohol or an appropriate cleaner; allow the surface to dry fully.
- Test-fit the new seals: position both pieces in the jamb to verify orientation and length; trim excess with a utility knife for a precise fit.
- Apply adhesive if required: follow the adhesive manufacturer's instructions—some seals are press-fit while others require a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive.
- Install the seal: press the seal firmly into the jamb channel, ensuring full engagement along the length and accurate alignment around corners.
- Secure while curing: use masking tape or spring clamps to hold the seal in place for the adhesive curing time specified by the adhesive maker (if used).
- Re-check door operation: close and open the door several times to ensure the seal does not interfere with latch engagement and provides even compression.
- Final trim and cleanup: trim any excess material, reinstall any removed trim or clips, and clean the surrounding area.
