A direct-fit liftgate weatherstrip designed to restore the seal between the liftgate and body, preventing water intrusion, wind noise, and road dust. Molded from high-quality automotive-grade rubber for long-lasting compression and weather resistance, this seal provides reliable closure and helps maintain interior dryness and cabin quiet. Ideal for restoration or replacement projects — verify part number compatibility with your vehicle before purchase.
Features:
- Made from high-quality automotive-grade rubber for long-lasting flexibility and seal retention.
- Creates a tight barrier to prevent water leaks, reduce wind noise, and keep out dust and debris.
- Designed for direct replacement of worn or cracked liftgate seals to restore proper closure.
- Resistant to UV, ozone, and temperature extremes for reliable performance in all seasons.
- Simple installation — contours to the liftgate flange and can be trimmed for precise fit.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Open the liftgate and remove the old weatherstrip: pry out retaining clips or gently pull the old seal free from the flange.
- Clean the mating surface thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or an appropriate cleaner to remove adhesive residue, dirt, and grease. Allow to dry.
- Dry-fit the new seal around the liftgate to confirm orientation and length. Trim any excess with a utility knife for a neat fit.
- If adhesive is recommended, apply a thin bead to the flange per adhesive instructions. Position the seal starting at the top center and press firmly into the channel, working outward toward the corners.
- Ensure the seal is fully seated in any retaining grooves or clips. Use masking tape to hold sections in place while adhesive cures if needed.
- Close the liftgate gently and check for even compression and proper alignment. Make any minor adjustments before the adhesive fully sets.
- Allow adhesive to cure per manufacturer recommendations (if used) before exposing to water or heavy use.
