Instructions:
- Open the door and gently remove the old weatherstrip: loosen any retainers or clips and pull the seal away from the channel or flange.
- Clean the mounting surface thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or a suitable cleaner to remove old adhesive, dirt, and debris; allow to dry completely.
- Test-fit the new seal along the door perimeter to confirm alignment and identify any trimming required.
- If the replacement uses a metal mounting retainer, slide or press the retainer into the door channel starting at one end and working toward the other, ensuring the seal seats evenly.
- If adhesive is recommended, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the mounting flange per the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions; press the seal firmly into place and hold or tape until initial set.
- Trim any excess material with scissors or a utility knife for a clean finish; avoid cutting beyond the profile of the seal.
- Close and open the door several times to seat the weatherstrip and verify uniform compression and proper door alignment. Make final adjustments as needed.
- Allow adhesive to cure fully (follow product-specific cure times) before exposing the door to water or heavy use.
