A durable cowl induction seal designed to restore the airtight connection between the cowl and hood induction scoop on vehicles equipped with cowl induction systems. This precision-molded EPDM rubber seal prevents air leaks, reduces engine bay heat soak, keeps out water and debris, and restores correct airflow for improved throttle response. Built for restoration and replacement applications, it offers long-lasting weather resistance, reliable compression set characteristics, and straightforward installation for hobbyists and professional restorers alike.
Features:
- Designed for vehicles equipped with cowl induction systems (verify fit before purchase).
- Made from high-quality EPDM rubber for excellent weather, ozone, and temperature resistance.
- Creates a tight seal to direct cool air to the induction scoop and reduce heat soak.
- Helps prevent water, dust, and debris from entering the cowl area and engine bay.
- OEM-style profile for accurate fit and proper alignment during restoration.
- Easy to install with basic tools; ideal for restoration or replacement projects.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 15-30 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, turn off engine, and allow the area to cool.
- Carefully remove the hood scoop or any trim necessary to access the cowl mating surface following vehicle-specific service procedures.
- Remove the old seal: pry up retaining clips or adhesive, then peel away the old rubber. Take care not to damage paint or surrounding trim.
- Clean the mating surfaces thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or an appropriate solvent to remove old adhesive, dirt, and oils. Allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new seal along the cowl and hood mating edges to confirm orientation and fit. Trim ends if necessary for a perfect fit.
- If adhesive is recommended, apply a thin, even bead of adhesive to the mounting channel or surface per adhesive instructions.
- Press the new seal firmly into place along the entire length, ensuring the profile seats fully and any channels engage. Use masking tape to hold sections in place while adhesive sets, if used.
- Reinstall the hood scoop or trim components and verify even compression of the seal. Close the hood and check for gaps or interference.
- Allow any adhesive to cure per manufacturer instructions before exposing to moisture or driving.
