The Precision Hood / Fender Bumper BMP 026 is a compact, impact-absorbing bumper designed to cushion contact between the hood and fender, maintain proper hood height, and reduce vibration and noise. As an OEM-style replacement, it restores correct hood alignment and prevents paint chipping or metal-to-metal wear. Built for reliable long-term use, this bumper improves fitment and helps preserve vehicle finish while being quick and easy to install.
Features:
- OEM-style replacement bumper to restore proper hood-to-fender spacing and alignment.
- Durable rubber/plastic construction resists weathering, oil, and road grime.
- Absorbs vibration and reduces hood rattle and noise while driving.
- Protects paint and prevents metal-to-metal contact that causes chips and wear.
- Simple push-in or screw-in design for quick replacement during routine maintenance or restoration.
- Compact profile fits discreetly while providing reliable cushioning and support.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 15 minutes
Instructions:
- Open the hood and prop securely.
- Locate the existing hood/fender bumper(s) and note their positions and orientation.
- Clean the mounting area with a rag and rubbing alcohol to remove dirt, grease, and debris.
- Remove the old bumper: for push-in types, pry gently with a trim tool or use pliers to pull straight out; for threaded types, unscrew with the appropriate driver or socket.
- Install the new BMP 026: align the bumper with the hole and push in firmly until seated, or thread the bumper in until snug if it is a screw-in type.
- Adjust bumper height as needed by screwing in/out or using the provided spacer (if applicable) so the hood closes evenly without binding.
- Close the hood and check for proper alignment, even gaps, and absence of rattles. Re-adjust if necessary.
