There were many vehicles in their day that came with an 8-Track tape player in the center console. This is a new reproduction bracket that mounts under the console shell for 1968-72 Pontiac GTO, Tempest and LeMans. It supports the 8-track to the floor pan. Without this bracket, the weight of the 8-track player would break the plastic console shell housing.
