The Pro-Billet Ready-to-Run distributor is the perfect upgrade for outdated points distributors or bulky HEIs. Simply install the distributor in the engine, connect three wires, the coil and fire it up! A maintenance-free magnetic pick-up accurately triggers the module. The increased output of the amplifier easily outperforms stock ignitions and will smooth out the engines idle, improve starting and provide a much higher rpm range. The Ready-to-Run features MSD's adjustable mechanical advance that allows you to custom tailor an ignition curve to match your engine's needs. There is also a vacuum advance canister to help improve economy. For positive street performance, the Ready-to-Run is the best choice. Includes a separate tach circuit that is ideal to trigger an aftermarket EFI such as an Atomic EFI system.
Features:
  • Simple and clean installation with only three wires to connect
  • Supplied with a black HEI style distributor cap and rotor (accepts Cap-A-Dapts)
  • Does not require an MSD Ignition Control
  • Now includes build-in rev limiter!
  • O-ring seals can be added to modified blocks to improve oil pressure control
  • Special oil tract improves lubrication to the distributor and cam gear
  • Nylon pads ensure smooth operation of the advance weights
  • Powerful built-in module produces a 7.5 amp single spark through high rpm
  • Easy-to-adjust mechanical advance with supplied springs and stop bushings
  • Vacuum advance canister for improved economy (can be locked out)
  • CNC machined billet aluminum housing and billet aluminum base
  • Maintenance-free magnetic pickup and precision reluctor create stable trigger signals throughout the rpm range
  • Polished steel shaft is QPQ coated and guided by a sealed ball bearing
  • Advance plate and weights are fine blanked from chrome moly steel and QPQ coated for friction reduction
  • Mechanical advance assembly can be locked out for crank trigger systems
  • Advance weight pins are staked and tig welded to the plate

About MSD Ignition

Racers never stop experimenting as they search for every way to wring out more power or handling performance to to gain an edge over the competition. The team at MSD is no different as we strive to deliver the products you  need to meet your performance goals. We continue to innovate and invent components and technology that deliver  performance and reliability with products that are easy to use and install.

Over the course of 40-plus years, MSD Performance has been driving the development of innovative components  that helped shape the way our cars race and perform. From super speedways to road courses, land speed racing to  top fuel dragsters, and of course your traditional hot rod, MSD has provided the components to fire nearly anything in  motorsports.

MSD was the first company to develop and offer the multiple sparking, capacitive discharge ignition for engines. The line of MSD 6-Series Ignitions are the most popular aftermarket ignitions in the world due to our race-proven performance on the track and our reliability on the street!

Early on, MSD focused squarely on ignition systems with revolutionary products like the multiple sparking CD ignition, timing and rev controls, billet aluminum distributors and the Pro-Mag, an incredible breakthrough in power  and endurance.

Today MSD is developing electronics for your entire powertrain. The Atomic EFI systems for the LS engine platform and throttle body are now complemented with a transmission controller. Our DynaForce Starters and Alternators  ensure that your engine cranks over to fire up and the Alternators keep it charged. MSD is poised to deliver components that work and communicate together to provide performance and value.
