Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface and open the door to access the lower edge.
- Carefully remove the old lower weatherstrip by prying with a trim tool or flat screwdriver; remove any remaining adhesive and fasteners.
- Clean the mounting channel thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or an appropriate cleaner and allow it to dry completely.
- Test-fit the new left and right seals in the channel to verify orientation and length; trim ends if necessary for an exact fit.
- Apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive along the mounting channel according to the adhesive manufacturer's instructions.
- Press the new weatherstrip firmly into place, ensuring the seal seats fully along the channel; use masking tape or clamps to hold it in position if required.
- Wipe away any excess adhesive immediately and ensure the seal edge aligns with the door sill for full contact.
- Allow adhesive to cure per product directions (typically 1–24 hours) before closing the door or exposing to moisture.
- Check door operation and seal contact after curing; make any minor adjustments or trims for a perfect fit.
