Direct-fit windshield wiper motor transmission arms for 1968–1972 GM A-Body vehicles (Chevelle, Malibu, Cutlass, LeMans, El Camino and similar). These transmission arms connect the wiper motor output to the linkage to restore proper sweep, reduce play and eliminate binding. Constructed from heavy-gauge steel with a corrosion-resistant finish, they deliver durable, reliable operation and OEM-style alignment—ideal for restoration and routine maintenance. • Restores correct wiper sweep and eliminates play or binding in worn transmission arms.
  • Direct/OEM-style fit for accurate alignment and reliable performance during restoration.
  • Ideal replacement for worn or damaged arms during maintenance or full restorations.
  • Simple installation with basic hand tools—no specialty equipment required.

Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Socket set (common sizes)
  • Ratchet and extensions
  • Wrench set
  • Screwdrivers (flat & Phillips)
  • Needle-nose pliers
  • Penetrating oil
  • Shop rags
  • Torque wrench (optional)
Instructions:
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent accidental wiper activation.
  2. Move wiper arms to the park position, mark blade locations relative to the windshield, then remove the wiper arm retaining nuts and pull the arms off the splines (use a puller if necessary).
  3. Remove the cowl panel or access cover to expose the wiper motor and linkage by removing screws and retaining clips.
  4. Note or mark the current orientation of the linkage and motor output shaft to preserve correct park position.
  5. Disconnect the linkage from the motor output shaft by removing the retaining clip or nut; unbolt the motor if needed for access.
  6. Remove the old transmission arms from the linkage assembly and inspect bushings and fasteners; replace any worn components.
  7. Install the new transmission arms in the same orientation, securing them to the motor shaft and linkage with the original hardware or supplied fasteners.
  8. Reinstall the motor (if removed), reattach the cowl panel, then reinstall the wiper arms to the marked positions and tighten the retaining nuts.
  9. Reconnect the battery and cycle the wipers to verify proper sweep and park. Make minor arm position adjustments if necessary to ensure full blade travel without interference.
  10. Final check: tighten all hardware to spec, confirm there is no binding, and ensure blades rest in the correct park position.
