1968-1972 GM A-Body Recessed Park Brushed Wiper Arms and Blades are a direct-fit replacement that restores factory-style recessed parking and a classic brushed finish. Designed to replace worn or damaged arms and blades, this kit secures the wiper assembly to OE splines, provides reliable, streak-free wiping, and hides the blades below the cowl when parked for a clean, period-correct appearance. Constructed for durability and corrosion resistance, the components are ideal for restoration projects or routine maintenance and offer an easy bolt-on upgrade that improves both function and curb appeal.
Features:
- Fits 1968–1972 GM A-Body vehicles (Chevelle, Cutlass, Malibu and other A-body models).
- Brushed metal finish resists corrosion and complements classic exterior trim.
- Recessed park design hides wipers below the cowl for a factory-correct look.
- Complete kit includes matched arms and replacement rubber blades for reliable wiping.
- OE-style splined fit for secure attachment and correct alignment.
- Durable blade rubber provides streak-free performance and long service life.
- Easy bolt-on replacement suitable for restorations and maintenance.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-45 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a flat surface, turn ignition off, and ensure wipers are in the parked position.
- Carefully remove the plastic cap (if present) covering the wiper arm nut using a flathead screwdriver.
- Mark the existing arm orientation on the windshield/arm or note its position so the new arm parks correctly.
- Remove the wiper arm nut with the appropriate socket and lift the arm off the splined shaft (use a wiper arm puller if needed).
- Clean the splined shaft and inspect for wear or corrosion; remove debris with a shop towel.
- Position the new arm on the splined shaft aligning it to the marked park position so the blade will recess below the cowl.
- Seat the arm fully, reinstall and tighten the nut to a snug fit (consult vehicle manual for specific torque; if unknown, tighten securely without over-torquing).
- Attach the replacement blade to the arm per the blade's instructions and ensure proper seating.
- Remove any protective film, lower the wiper arms, start the vehicle, and cycle the wipers to verify correct park position and full, streak-free sweep.
- If necessary, adjust arm position by loosening the nut slightly, repositioning the arm, and retightening.
