Lower windshield molding designed for 1968–1972 GM A-Body 2-door sedans and hardtops with recessed wipers. This direct-fit replacement secures and seals the lower edge of the windshield, protects the wiper recess from water intrusion, and restores the factory appearance of the cowl area. Built for longevity and ease of installation, it provides a durable, corrosion-resistant finish and precise alignment to keep weather and debris out while finishing the windshield trim for restoration or maintenance projects.
Features:
  • Fits 1968–1972 GM A-Body 2-door Sedan and Hardtop models with recessed windshield wipers.
  • Made from high-quality, corrosion-resistant stainless steel with an OEM-style finish.
  • Secures and seals the lower windshield edge and wiper recess to prevent water intrusion.
  • Direct-fit replacement restores factory appearance and alignment for show or daily drivers.
  • Easy to install with common hand tools; ideal for restoration and maintenance applications.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • 10mm socket or appropriate wrench (for wiper arm nuts)
  • Phillips/flat screwdriver
  • Plastic trim removal tool
  • Masking tape
  • Microfiber cloth and cleaner
  • Silicone sealant or weatherstrip adhesive (optional)
  • Gloves
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on a level surface, set parking brake, and disconnect the negative battery terminal if desired for safety.
  2. Remove the wiper arms: carefully pry off the caps (if present) and remove the wiper arm nuts, then lift the arms off their splines. Use masking tape to mark arm positions if needed for correct reinstallation.
  3. Carefully remove the old lower windshield molding: use a plastic trim tool to disengage clips or gently pry out the molding, taking care not to damage the paint or windshield.
  4. Clean the cowl channel and mounting surface thoroughly with a microfiber cloth and appropriate cleaner; remove old sealant, grease, and debris so the new molding sits flush.
  5. Test-fit the new molding in the channel to confirm orientation and fitment. Trim or adjust only if necessary and as directed by the molding's design.
  6. Install the molding by engaging one end into the channel and pressing along the length to seat all clips or edges. If clips or fasteners are supplied, install them per their instructions.
  7. Apply a small bead of silicone sealant or weatherstrip adhesive in areas prone to leaks if desired for added protection; wipe away excess promptly.
  8. Reinstall the wiper arms in the pre-marked positions, tighten the nuts to spec, and snap the caps back on. Check operation of the wipers and inspect for proper fit and sealing around the windshield.
  9. Allow any adhesive or sealant to cure per the manufacturer's recommendations before exposing the area to heavy water or road conditions.
