Instructions:
- Remove the interior door panel or trim necessary to access the door guide rivet.
- Locate the existing rivet head and use a center punch to mark the center for drilling.
- Drill out the rivet head using a drill bit slightly larger than the rivet shank; take care not to enlarge the guide hole.
- Use a punch or chisel to drive out the remaining rivet shank from the backside of the door.
- Clean the hole area of rust and debris with a wire brush or rust inhibitor as needed.
- Position the door guide in its correct location and align the mounting hole.
- Insert the replacement rivet through the guide and into the door panel hole.
- Set the rivet by driving the tail flush with the panel using a hammer and appropriate drift or use a rivet-setting tool if applicable.
- Trim or file any excess material and apply touch-up paint to exposed metal to prevent corrosion.
- Reinstall the interior door panel and test the door for proper alignment and smooth operation.
