A 64L galvanized steel fuel tank with filler neck and two vent lines, designed as a direct-fit replacement for 1968–1969 Chevrolet Chevelle and 1970 Buick GS / Skylark models. Engineered for restoration and long-term use, the heavy-gauge galvanized construction resists corrosion and fuel contamination while restoring original capacity and mounting alignment. The included filler neck and dual vent lines simplify hookup and ventilation, delivering reliable, leak-free operation and improved durability over aged or rusted original tanks.
Features:
- Fits 1968-1969 Chevrolet Chevelle and 1970 Buick GS / Skylark (direct-fit replacement).
- Durable galvanized steel construction for superior corrosion resistance and longer service life.
- 64L capacity restores original fuel volume and vehicle range.
- Includes filler neck and two vent lines for correct fueling and vapor ventilation.
- Designed for direct bolt-in installation with original mounting points and hardware compatibility.
- Ideal for restoration projects or to replace rusted, leaking, or damaged factory tanks.
- Helps prevent fuel contamination and reduces the risk of pinhole leaks from rusted tanks.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 1.5–2 hours
Instructions:
- Work in a well-ventilated area and eliminate ignition sources; disconnect the negative battery terminal.
- Safely siphon or drain as much fuel as possible from the old tank into an approved container and place the drain pan under the tank.
- Raise the vehicle securely on jack stands and support the tank with a floor jack or transmission jack.
- Disconnect fuel filler hose, vent lines, fuel supply and return lines, and electrical connectors to the fuel sending unit or pump. Label lines if helpful.
- Support the tank and remove the retaining straps or bolts. Carefully lower the tank and slide it out from under the vehicle.
- Inspect and transfer any needed components (sending unit gasket, rubber isolators, filler neck if not using the included one) to the new tank.
- Position the new galvanized tank with the filler neck and vent lines oriented correctly. Lift and align to the original mounting points.
- Reconnect the fuel lines, vent lines, filler hose, and electrical connectors. Use new clamps and ensure all connections are secure and sealed.
- Raise the tank slightly to relieve stress, tighten mounting straps or bolts to factory torque, then lower the jack.
- Refill a small amount of fuel, reconnect the battery, start the engine and inspect all connections for leaks. Top off the tank and recheck after a short test drive.
