Instructions:
- Prepare vehicle: raise and support the car safely, remove interior trim and any obstructing components to access the rear wheelhouse.
- Assess and mark: inspect the existing wheelhouse and surrounding metal, mark cut lines and the area to be removed. Preserve as much undamaged metal as possible.
- Remove old metal: cut out the rusted or damaged wheelhouse section using grinder/cutoff tools. Use a spot-weld cutter to remove factory spot welds where applicable.
- Clean and fit: clean mating surfaces, test-fit the new outer wheel well, trim as needed for an exact fit. Ensure alignment with the quarter panel and trunk floor.
- Tack and weld: clamp the replacement in place and tack-weld at multiple points to maintain alignment. Complete welds using plug welds or seam welding, working in short sections to minimize heat distortion.
