This 7/8" rear sway / stabilizer bar is a direct-fit upgrade for 1964-1972 GM A-Body vehicles built to F-41 handling specifications. It reduces body roll, improves rear-end stability and cornering balance, and restores the car's original sport-tuned handling characteristics. Built from high-strength steel with a corrosion-resistant finish, the bar offers durable, long-lasting performance and reliable operation. Designed for bolt-on installation, it is an ideal replacement for worn or missing factory rear sway bars during restorations or performance upgrades.
Features:
  • Fitment: 1964-1972 GM A-Body vehicles (F-41 style)
  • 7/8" diameter high-strength steel construction for increased rear roll stiffness
  • Corrosion-resistant finish improves longevity and resale appearance
  • Improves handling by reducing body roll and stabilizing the rear during cornering
  • Direct-fit geometry for factory mounting points; works with stock or aftermarket links
  • Ideal for restoration projects or as a performance-oriented replacement
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 1-2 hours
Suggested Tools:
  • Floor jack and jack stands
  • Socket and wrench set
  • Torque wrench
  • Penetrating oil
  • Pry bar or large screwdriver
  • Rubber mallet (optional)
  • Safety glasses and gloves
Instructions:
  1. Park on a level surface, engage parking brake, and safely lift the rear of the vehicle with a floor jack; support on jack stands.
  2. Apply penetrating oil to end link and bushing bracket fasteners, allow to soak if corroded.
  3. Remove the rear sway bar end links from the axle or control arms.
  4. Unbolt the bushing bracket(s) that secure the sway bar to the chassis and lower the old bar out of the vehicle.
  5. Compare the old bar to the new 7/8" unit and transfer any required hardware or install new bushings onto the replacement bar as needed.
  6. Position the new sway bar in place, loosely install the bushing brackets to hold it, then attach the end links to the axle or control arms.
  7. With all components in place, torque bushing bracket and end link fasteners to OEM specifications.
  8. Lower the vehicle, perform a low-speed test drive to verify proper operation and clearance, then recheck fastener torque after initial use.
