STANDARDThe Axle Shaft C-Clip is an imperative replacement part for the proper functioning of the axle shaft and basic vehicle operation. These C-Clips are original equipment supplied by GM and is for 10" or 12" bolt rear ends. Whenever axle work is performed, these c-clips are vital for replacement to ensure proper lock-in.
Such merchandise maybe permanently out of production and tooling may no longer exist, and the new old stock may represent the only current source of a particular item. Although some circles consider NOS parts as having to be “era†correct or “show correctâ€, this assumption is not true. NOS parts could be parts that are exact to what was found at time of production, had upgrading in tooling to accommodate other car lines such as extra mounting holes or casting ears, made on worn or rebuilt original tooling or superseded entirely to another design for safety reasons. Examples of these companies can included but are not limited to AC Delco, Remy and Delphi. NOS parts can come packaged in many ways such as era correct packing, update packaging, unpackaged entirely or simply in plastic bags. While damage to the original packaging is common, many items have been on shelves or in storage and over time may have developed some damage such as surface rust or discoloration. This minor damage from “shelf wear†does not detract from an item being identified as NOS.
